How We Love Our Neighbors

A local community with global connections

Our congregation is committed to service. We’re regular participants in the Durham CROP Walk, raising money to end hunger locally and around the world. We create and deliver greeting cards to several local nursing homes each month, an initiative we call Melissa’s Ministry in remembrance of a beloved sister who died in 2021 and had a heart for elders.

We partner locally with the Parktown Food Hub, Durham Congregations in Action, and Urban Ministries of Durham.

We value our connections with the larger church, and share time, energy and financial support with the Virlina District, Camp Bethel, the Church of the Brethren, Bethany Seminary, Bridgewater College, and On Earth Peace.

We are a member of the Supportive Communities Network of the Brethren Mennonite Council for LGBTQ Interests.
