ABOUT US…

Peace Covenant Church of the Brethren is a Christian community based in Durham, North Carolina, with global connections.  We love meeting people and are committed to welcoming everyone of any age, gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious formation, financial status, physical and mental ability, or nationality.  We are a small and committed group who invites and encourages everyone to share their gifts in every aspect of congregational life.

We seek to follow the teachings of Jesus to be in relationship with God and our diverse neighbors and to become better stewards of God's creation through simple living and pursuing peace and justice.

We are a small local community with a global bent. Our congregation includes teenagers and octogenarians; students, teachers, craftspeople, retirees and artists; and folks born on five different continents. We love meeting new people!

We share our space with Emmanuel Antioch Presbyterian Korean Church, occasional ESL classes for recent immigrants, and regular Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

Worship is informal. Our pastor leads worship, and many of the elements involve conversation with the whole congregation. Whether you’re in your Sunday best or your summer shorts and sandals, you’ll fit right in. We have nursery space for small children if needed, but we really delight in having kids in worship with us - there’s even a kids’ corner in the sanctuary filled with coloring books and activities.

Join us! Worship begins at 11 a.m., both in the building and on Zoom. We share a potluck meal after worship service the third Sunday of every month. We gather online on most Tuesday evenings for Bible study, education and reflection.
