Peace Covenant is pleased to welcome our new pastor, Dana Cassell. Dana grew up in the Roanoke area of Virginia, attending William Byrd High School. She went on to the College of William and Mary where she studied theology. Her call then lead her to the Candler School of Theology at Emory University where she received her M.Div. Through her work with Brethren Volunteer Service, she “got to meet dozens of incredible pastors whose work was interesting, active, creative and challenging.” Most recently she has served as Minister for Youth Formation at Manassas Church of the Brethren which has confirmed for her “that ministry really is all of these things.” She has also been a staff member with the Church of the Brethren Office of Ministry and continues to have a part-time position with this office as a project manager. She “love(s) watching relationships grow – between people and between people and God.” Her spiritual gifts include interpretation and communication, “listening deeply, facilitating conversation and reconciliation, opening and tending spaces where people are comfortable sharing of themselves, helping people to hear one another.” Service with Peace Covenant is what she feels strongly lead to do at this time.
